Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and services provided by The Bar Vault (the "Seller", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Who you are contracting with

You are contracting with The Bar Vault. The Service is a study platform designed to help Nigerian Bar Part II students prepare for examinations through AI-assisted lessons, case summaries, quizzes, progress tracking, and study rooms.

By continuing to use the Service, you confirm that you have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of any organisation you represent, or that you are of legal age to form a binding contract under applicable law.

2. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular you must not:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • commit fraud, spam, or any deceptive or malicious activity;
  • infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person;
  • interfere with the security of the Service, including introducing malware, probing for vulnerabilities, scraping content, or attempting unauthorised access;
  • use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, hateful, or deceptive content, including deepfakes or material that infringes the rights of others;
  • attempt to circumvent any technical limitations or access controls;
  • resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service.

You are responsible for the prompts you submit to the AI features and for how you use the outputs. You must verify the accuracy of AI-generated content. You must have the necessary rights to any content you upload (for example, a school timetable photo).

3. Intellectual property

We retain all ownership of the Service and its intellectual property, including software, documentation, branding, and the structure of study materials. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal study within your selected plan.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as notes and timetable uploads). You grant us a limited licence to host and process your content solely to provide the Service to you, including generating AI summaries and notes.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and are not a substitute for your own study and professional legal advice.

4. Service level

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

5. Payment and subscription terms

Payments for The Bar Vault Premium are processed securely by Paystack. Premium is a one-time payment of ₦2,000 — there is no recurring subscription. By paying, you also agree to Paystack's terms for payment processing.

For details on how Paystack handles your payment data, please refer to Paystack's Privacy Policy at https://paystack.com/privacy. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Your account and credentials

You must keep your account credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service where there is a material breach of these Terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Upon termination, you may lose access to your stored study data. You may request an export of your data before termination where practicable.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is capped at the fees you paid us in the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where prohibited by law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising out of your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you may have in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
